“Some Like It Hot” was supposed to be filmed in colour (as were all Marilyn Monroe’s movies, according to her contract), but Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon looked greenish and unsightly in the film tests, so it was finally filmed in black and white. These rare and beautiful behind-the-scenes photographs of Ms Monroe and her cast mates in full colour show us how the movie could have turned out. One thing’s for sure though, and that is Marilyn always looked flawless and full of life whether in black and white or colour.
