On Sunday afternoon we decided to take a breather from last week’s craziness of sourcing lots of new stock, trading at the Vintage Experience market at Truth, and more sourcing, so we stopped by at the annual Vintage Ideas market at Simondium Country Lodge. I blogged about it last year too here. It was the perfect way to unwind after a long week. This year’s event was even better than last year’s. There were quite a few new sellers, as well as some usuals, who took over a large portion of the estate. There was room after room filled with the most beautiful and interesting antiques, bric-a-brac, homemade goods and clothes. I enjoyed chatting to all the stall-holders and was just too chuffed when a couple of them recognised me from Lehza Vintage and even mentioned I’m famous (which came as news to me). I would thoroughly recommend every vintage enthusiast to take a leisurely drive out to the countryside next time and spend the day perusing the charming wares on display and enjoying a wholesome South-African style brunch in the gardens among the trees.
