I just can’t get enough of vintage styled interiors lately. I love light, dramatic spaces, filled with interesting finds and art. Elegant, simple, classic. I’m seriously addicted to two specific decor blogs – desiretoinspire and design*sponge. The latter has a category dedicated to before and afters where readers submit pictures of how they’ve redone the ugliest of old salvaged furniture and turned them into wow-pieces. It’s brought out my inner DIYer which resulted in my boyfriend and I spending our Sunday morning (and far too much cash) in Builder’s Warehouse stocking up on all kinds of supplies – everything from a staple gun to spray paint – with the intention of making over some of our furniture. We then spent the afternoon sanding the living daylights out of this fabulous 1920’s Art Deco occasional chair in need of major TLC that I found at an antique shop during the week.
