My Experience at the Vintage Ideas Market

On Sunday after lunch, my boyfriend and I headed down to the Vintage Ideas Market at Simondium Country Lodge, nestled in the heart of the Cape Winelands, to see what the hoo-hah was about and to support a few traders I know who had set up stalls there for the long weekend. We were greeted by a snazzy looking security guard in a top hat at the entrance of the lodge who obligingly showed us the way to the market. Beyond the romantically rustic entrance, the garden was decorated with shabby chic vintage and upcycled furniture and garden ornaments for sale. Every room was filled with an assortment of unique vintage and antique collectibles, kitchenalia, hand crafted goods and a touch of fashion. We spent a good couple of hours browsing, chatting to stall-holders and enjoying the old worlde ambiance. See for yourselves below!

They had their bunnies in a row…

Upcycled, vintage and hand made wares

A cloth can speak a thousand words

Hand made shell chandelier hanging outside

A rustic wrought iron structure on the grass outside

My pumpkin, next to two rather overgrown pumpkins

Incanda’s panoramic advertisement

Done shopping, the crowds enjoying their tea in the fresh farm air

Another shot of the amazing view of the surrounding mountains
