On Sunday we had a feast of a picnic with the boyfriend’s family, since Summer has finally arrived in Cape Town. It was at the Helderberg Nature Reserve, one of my favourite spots ever. I’ve been going there since I can remember. Once we had found the perfect shady tree to spread out under in the sweltering heat, we proceeded to stuff our faces, laugh, wander along the trails and be merry. It’s practically impossible to wear dresses or loose hair at the moment in the Cape, because the gale force winds we’re experiencing at the moment are ridiculous, so I wore my favourite vintage romper and my long hair in a bun. Luckily the wind was as still as can be at the Reserve and there wasn’t even a cloud in sight to ruin a perfectly blue sky. It was a good day and I can’t wait to go back again.
